According to the New York Daily News, AOL, and thisis50.com, Kanye West was supposedly banned from tomorrow's "Hope for Haiti" telethon hosted by George Clooney on MTV.
A source connected to the telethon told AOL's "Popeater" column the following statements regarding Kanye, "Kanye has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to steal the spotlight, and well, this night it's just not about him. After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees its just best that he does not participate," said the unnamed source.
However, a representative for MTV has told USMagazine.com that these reports are not true. "That's absolutely not true. We DID reach out to Kanye."
Alicia Keys, Jay Z, Beyonce, Rihanna and Mary J. Blige have all been confirmed as performers for tommorow's "Hope for Haiti" telethon on MTV. At this time it is still unclear whether Kanye will be in attendance or not.
If he does show up, hopefully he won't say something crazy like'Barack Obama doesn't care about white people.' He does have a history of putting his foot in his mouth, but you have to respect him for at least speaking his mind and never sugar coating anything.
